Re: "The Blue 2012" - Oh Dear...
The concept that the CH uniform and how it is worn, is somehow frozen in time (according to posters here frozen as worn in the 1940's 1950's and 1960's) falls apart on any inspection of historic photographs.

Re: 2013 Admissions Thread
Hi all. So we got our letter and my daughter did not get a place. She is very sad but I had kept it very real that she may not throughout this process so I think she is adjusting ok. I wanted to ask about the letter though. Our letter says "Whilst ***** performed well in our assessments, the s...

Re: CH and the Armed Services
Roger did have a younger brother (Rupert) and an older brother who's name I can't remember. But Roger wasn't in Barnes B. I will try to get the brain cells activated and try to remember more details. The following update is written to the sound of me eating a hat. I have looked back at John's phot ...

Re: laptops
I'm not an expert on modern education, but it strikes me that it would be very difficult to prepare pupils for a future working life or higher education if they didn't have hi-tech gadgets.
Same would apply at the local state school down the road.

Re: Science teaching in the 50's
During my A'level years 70-72 I took this exam http://www.nuffieldfoundation.org/nuffield-advanced-physical-science-c1965 together with Maths and Biology. The teachers were Mr James (Chemistry) and Chris Vincent-Smith (Physics) both I would rate as excellent teachers. I'm unable to make any comparis...

Re: school scarf
John You and I would have worn the old style wollen school scarf. University or college scarfs at the time were made of a different material with the colours length ways, I think we would have known them as a college scarf. I believe the school later adopted this style as the official school scarf. ...

I thought it might be of interest to some, on a CH Forum, to see how many rather more talented Old Blue cricketers went "all the way" in the game as defined above.
I was interested in the list. I have always been interested to know what Old Blues got up to whether I knew them or not.

I asked at school when we went to the 40 year on gathering.
Girls wear grey with their summer uniform and yellow with their winter uniform. Winter uniform is adopted after the half term coming.

Re: 40 Years on 1971/72
A really enjoyable day at the School today in bright sunshine for the most part. It was good to meet englishangel, after years of exchanging banter on here, and also to renew my acquaintance with AKAP and HowardH amongst others who were present. Thanks to Margaret Wadman and her team for organising...

Re: 40 Years on 1971/72
Also, with regard to those attending a reunion, does Margaret Wadman not publish a list of attendees on the CHOBA website? http://www.chassociation.org/events/2012/40YearsOn2012.php I am sure 2 (Hickson and Palmer) were in BaB, but it is not mentioned. Correct, Palmer (me) and Hickson were in BaB w...
