Re: IICSA - Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse

“Those who do not understand history are doomed to repeat it....” (or something like that) - so I really hope both CH and the IICSA have a strong desire to fully understand how the environment at CH lent itself so clearly to these abuses happening, being allowed to continue, and to being so widespre...

Re: Riskywrags post

The flurry of posts were all one user. With the anti-spam registration measures, these are real people registering, finding the answers to the registration questions, and then posting junk - not much we can do, except I’m blocking the ip’s and deleting the users and all their posts. Next are will be...

Re: Riskywrags post

Yes, that’s the best way as J.R., RichardB or I will see those and delete them.
If we miss them though and they’re still there, then a message in this section sends me an email which I then respond to too...

Re: Former teacher, Tom Snook

He taught me CDT - was a good teacher, so much so I was convinced I wanted to be a CDT teacher.

No idea what he’s been up to since.

Re: Riskywrags post

I’ve deleted both those users.

Are you getting them as private messages/emails, as well as seeing stuff posted in topics?

Re: CH Letter re support for abuse survivors

I was shocked when I arrived in the second form, because although I had experienced bullying before, at CH the older boys actually had permission of the school to bully younger boys! I would say this is drastically different from any normal day school. Yes, I think that’s a good point - and the ine...

Re: Riskywrags post

Thanks - it's quite a task keeping on top of the influx of new Russian users posting crap! I've updated the Registration questions to change them and see if that helps - but not sure if it'll stop this rubbish....

Thanks for flagging it.

Re: CH Letter re support for abuse survivors

Bullying was institutionalised and endemic during my time at CH for sure, between 1985 and 1992. In-house hierarchies gave kids power over each other - and some abused it, to a greater or lesser extent. I don’t think this was unusual though across all schools - I was bullied and fought regularly wit...

Re: Response from the Head Master

In my time there was the “Chamber Choir” which was a small subset of the main Chapel Choir. I don’t recall any Common Room choir - the only adult/staff choir I knew of was the Choral Society, which the school choir sang with occasionally, usually as part of the Angus Ross Memorial Concerts.

CH Letter re support for abuse survivors

Just seen this published on the CHOBA site:- https://www.christs-hospital.org.uk/old-blues/old-blue-updates/headmaster-and-treasurers-statement-to-old-blues-23-july-2019/ I guess it’s tough to get this all 100% right, but sounds fair enough in terms of making contacting after each trial, and only th...

Re: Roger Martin - trial

From Rob Totterdell, posted on his behalf:- Statement to the Unofficial CH Forum I have been made aware of and have now read some posts that have been mad concerning the Roger Martin trial. I can confirm that I attended at the trial for its full length other than the Thursday when he was found guilt...

Re: Roger Martin - trial

I have locked this topic, as suggested by a previous poster and by a number of PMs I’ve received. Tempers and feelings are running high, and I feel that a lot has been said, often quite aggressively, which may be regretted and/or seen to be trolling/bullying - and as anyone who’s spent enough time o...
