Re: Four weeks to half term

I won't have to leave home until around 2.30 pm to collect my daughter, her train gets in at 4.15 pm.
Not having seen her at the leave weekend, I am really looking forward to seeing her again.

Re: "Official" Parents' Forum

It's very sad that the school's own forum hasn't really taken off, and as already said, going back to square one with it isn't going to help. But I suspect the reason it's not used is precisely because it is part of the schools own website. I imagine people are happier to post here, with less fear o...

Does your username, by any chance, give a clue as to which house you are a matron of..?

Re: Could someone tell me

I had no plans to, but why, in particular? I didn't ruin it, it went back in better condition than it arrived home in too, as I sewed all the dangling hem back up.

Re: Could someone tell me

My daughter has "lost" lots of things, but they do always turn up. Everything is clearly labelled, and I'm sure that is the key. On the subject of dry cleaning, I took the plunge and washed her uniform this time!! I did the skirt and the jacket seperately, on an extra delicate wash cycle w...

Re: New Bursary Assessments

I've been assuming that once a figure has been decided, that's that. It hadn't occurred to me that I could ask to be reassessed. Does it ever do any good? I think that our biggest problem with the system as it is, is that they decide what we are to pay this year, based on what we had coming in last ...

Re: laptops

My daughter, just about to go into the 3rd form, will not be taking a laptop. I simply cannot pluck one out of the air for her, and I'm still not sure I'd want to, even if I could. IF is seems she is being very badly left behind by not having one, I'll consider reviewing the situation around Christm...

Re: laptops

I agree with all of the above, but also, what a huge change from all the advice we were given last year!! No taking expensive gadgets, laptops absolutely not needed etc. I'm quite disgusted actually, yet another thing to seperate the haves from the have nots. £200 for clay pidgeon shooting?!...

Beating retreat, end of term.

Can I pick the brains of someone who has done this before please? :D The flyer states "All Gates open from 2.00pm The Ceremony begins at 3.00pm Term ends at 4.00pm" Does arriving at 2pm mean you get to load some, if not all your children's things into the car before "The Ceremony"...
