I remember Adrian Matthews car was damaged - remember him coming into English that morning and he just sat there in silence.

Re: Hertford uniform

Anyone remember Cherry Reds and spotted blouses?! No... but according to our inimitable (though many tried) matron, the reason girls on the UF and above wear grey socks is because when the schools were merged, the more senior girls outright refused to wear the yellow socks. I was at CH during...

Did you have your son in St Mary's in Pompey?

Adrian Matthews I would say - possibly the best teacher I had at CH(especially enjoyed the extra english lessons he gave my class - red wine all round! ) He wasn't at CH very long though. Very decent bloke.
Bob Sillett was another one I remember well.

Wasn't the Hertford uniform really unpleasent? It wasn't anything special really. In the winter we wore grey tunics with a sort of checked blouse and black macs! In the summer we wore striped summer dresses in various colours with a black blazer. The cherry reds and spotted blouses were for sundays...

I was at Hertford for 4 years and then Horsham for 3 years so got to experience both schools. Hertford was much more strict than Horsham. There were major differences between the schools. Hertford was soooo small compared to Horsham and the fact they had broken bottles stuck to the tops of the walls...
