Oxfordshire Old Blues?

Anyone from Oxfordshire Old Blues on here?
I heard rumour that the Oxfordshire section is extremely active, with active links with Oxford Uni students etc. etc.

If anyone has any up-to-date info, post here....

Only info on OldBlues.com is from 2003!

Cheers,

Didn't say it (involve a racket). Just that if you criticise fives, then squash is the next logical victim, followed by............

Ian Torkington - "Come on, make a move" - which was replied to by the whole dormitory moving one leg in sync.....most amusing at the time!

The old swimming pool was nasty, but I do remember it with affection. The little pool you had to walk through, leaving your shoes outside (how crazy is that, given the state of the place!), the empty diving pool at the end with no barriers at all - lethal if anyone had ever slipped on the wet tiled ...

Fives players were always pointless and dull too, if I remember. Too true. They just take it way too seriously, and give you evils if you say anything bad about it. Crikey - never thought fives could possibly illicit such an aggressive response! Never played it myself, but I guess if fives is point...

I guess the key thing is that the school has changed a lot in the past xx years....it's always moving on etc. etc. We should all consider the school as it is now, before we consider "sending" our kids there... Whilst I received the slipper once for swearing in front of the housemaster whil...

What's free at CH, that you'd pay for if you were at a day school?? 1. Music lessons - choir and 'cello in my case. 2. Sports - squash, swimming, rugby - imagine paying subs for those, or a per-play fee? I played squash couple of times a week, swimming at least once a week, and rugby most days (or s...

looks good on the CV?! Yeah, guess it does - but keep having to explain to people that it "wasn't one of those types of public schools" I think that going to a public school can be a real negative in some circles, depending on the job/environment you're on. I'm sure that very few people i...

I certainly wanted to go, having seen how much my brother loved it. I got into two other local public schools, and although my parents could really have afforded to pay for either, they gave me a genuine choice - there was no choice, CH without hesitation! To be honest my view is that anyone who sen...

I would say that I had far greater opportunities at CH than I ever would have had at home - partly due to the facilities on-offer, but also the committment of the staff and being around your friends 24/7. I also felt that it enhanced my relationship with my parents - I appreciated them more when I s...
