Re: Old Blues Rifle Club

It looks as if we shall have:- Clive Kim Ian Alister Gerald Guy Simon Andrew David So I will enter two teams of five (I don't think we can cope with more than this anyway due to the new rules on supervision). Some will notice that we still have one space free, so if anyone else wants a go.. Cost is ...

I see that the first name on that list is "Julia Margaret Harbor" from Twickenham, my great-great-grandmother was also a Julia Harbor from Twickenham, probably related!

Re: Old Blues Rifle Club

2009 Dear All, It's time to think about the PS Vets at Bisley again. This will take place at 500 yards on Thursday 16th July, starting at about 5pm. Could those who would like to take part let me know so that I can enter the team(s). I'm not sure how many teams we will be able to enter as most of y...

Re: Latest Credit Card Scam !!

Not entirely related but I felt like ranting about a scam I was involved with the other week. I was rung by a beauty/photograhy company saying I had been refered by a friend who's name they gave me. I was offered a days makeover and photo shoot for free, with no obligtion to buy the photos in excha...

Re: Settles

The ones illustrated are actually the same as we had. I don't mean they look the same, they are the identical objects. Like the beds. It would be interesting to know just how old they were. I like the way that some of the beds had been extended in length, I would guess as the average age in the sch...

Re: Nifty trick with the house payphones

There was also thge abortive attempt at a private phone system inside the school. You could have a phone with a 3 digit number in your study for I think £5 a term, it only rang internally to other such phones, I believe O'Meara had something to do with it. Alas standard very late Saturday night tr...

There must be a few pearls out there? I was in the Navy section under Rocker Rae and Dave Clements...we didn't seem to have as much fun as the Army or RAF guys but on one CCF Inspection parade we were the guard of honour and I had a sword that Chief Bradley had given me for the salute march past......
