Re: Who Else Has Never Been Back to CH?
Interesting point about the careers thing. I wanted to do something a little different and become a photographer, something I was quite good at back in the 80's. However, tell that to the "Careers Adviser" at CH and if it didn't involve a straightforward get a standard academic degree and ...

They are all as bad as each other.

A genuine all-round good bloke. I have fond memories of him.

Re: Should I change my browser?
Neill you need to register with the Telephone Preference Service http://www.mpsonline.org.uk/tps/ It's free and it's illegal for cold callers to ring you if you're registered. Any that do will ring off very quickly when they realise. Been registered 4 years now and only had 3 unwanted calls. You can...

Re: "Highway" at CH
This was filmed on my Grecians year. I clearly remember the filming for the band parade (I'm on the second part briefly at 1.28!). Lots and lots of very familiar faces. You may not be aware that in the showband sequence the solo trumpeter was Rick Slater, who not long afterwards died on the railway...

Re: CH dogs
Grimshaw's dog Rambo was a real character. A thick-set Staffy, he had a skull about an inch thick as he regularly couldn't stop himself on the polished wooden floors and slid head first into the wall. The poor thing was also hit by a car at one point; he bounced off and appeared almost totally uninj...

Re: "Highway" at CH
Have to admit to being a bit disappointed when Sir Harry Secombe came to CH to do Highway. He was at the time a patron of the British Diabetic Association (now Diabetes UK) and I was quite a fan of his. As a diabetic I asked to meet him and was pretty much given "the brush-off". I'm assumi...

Re: SHOES !!!!!!
When I was at CH it seemed that you got your Broadie on the LE (on our year they were "downgraded" from solid silver to silver plate if I remember correctly) and wore it at the front. Then from the UF onwards you could wear it how you liked. Don't honestly remember how "gospel" t...

Re: ITS RUGBY TIME AGAIN
Was impressed with the French scrum and the English Lineout. I felt the Welsh for all their pre-tournament posturing on the BBC 606 message boards were somewhat rudderless and the Irish looked like they couldn't be bothered after the 1st half. Interesting to see that the English are the top try scor...

Re: CCF STORIES/INSPECTIONS/CAMPS
Greg, Dr Mundill taught history - I know, I tried skiving off his lessons enough times haha! As for you having the delights of a crush on Miss Haywood, consider this: Rick Slater's funeral was on my 18th birthday which coincided with the end of the Lent Term and everyone let off steam with a MASSIVE...
