Re: non-poster
I will try to answer Phil's question as a person who posted 7 times since joining in Nov 2004. As has been noted 54 people have posted more than 100 times and they seemed to me to form a group that really chat with each other with a familiarity that is interesting to observe but hard to break into ...

Why thank you kindly, I had not expected this today!!! Today is our 37th wedding anniversary and we have had a lovely day out in mid-Wales. Beautiful weather, glorious views over the mountains and most of the tourists at the beach not clogging up the roads   We are about to go out to dinn...

I am not aware of bitterness that the Hertford School no longer exists, however where we may be bitter is that we were always the second class citizens. It has been very revealing to me to learn that the boys at Horsham were aware of our existence and were, in some case at least, curious about us. ...

I'm not convinced, Barbara. Posting was not a problem, even at the start but actually going to meet someone else - that was really scary. Thank goodness Mrs C couldn't turn up (not that I have anything against her) - meeting one person was bad but double the experience ......... How strange. Mrs C ...

Crap by terror? I spent two years in Pakistan, and now I live in Thailand. Rings a bell... Pakistan - right next door to the biggest opium farm in the world. Thailand/Burma - the second biggest? Not for long - you can come home now that the British Government has announdced that it will pay UK farm...

I do NOT think that population control along the lines of the Chinese one child policy is the answer. What I do think necessary is for everyone to learn the basics of birth control and to have the ability to access the means to apply it to their lives. It has been shown (and no I don't have anyone ...

In the bank where I worked in the 1970's to end of the 1990's we did an exercise on costs. This was around 1996 or early 1997 (so add inflation to get today's prices). To compose, type (on a PC), print, correct, sign and mail a single A4 page letter cost £17 before we amortised any equipment, boug...

One can look at it from other angles. a) Electricity. Currently most production causes the release of CO2 - gas, coal etc. Back in the First Oil shock in the 1970s they already had the technology to produce all the projected electricity requirements of the UK for tghe following 20 years growth. The ...

Re: Website
This was sent to me by an email pal in Canada. http://thefiftiesandsixties.com/CarsWeDrove.htm T but what interested me was the name of the web designer. The name seems to be related to his 22 years in the navy - not to us. 10 years experience of RVs (those big Yank living trucks) and RV Parks (pre...
