I'm coming to this late, so forgive me if i suggest something that has already been mooted. My brother, for his 21st birthday present, wanted a couple of housey buttons silver plated and converted into cufflinks. I couldn't get it done in time, but was amazed that the school didn't already sell them...

Sounds like I was a bit crap and spent the evening talking with Tim Benjamin rather than searching out the other members of the forum. Good fun all round, hope I didn't hit too many bum notes.
