Does anyone have any memories of their first day at CH? I remember my first day at 'big school' very well. We all had to form an orderly queue outside the main entrance. I met up with a friend from my primary school and stood with him. The school was a grammar school the year before I got there. It...

Re: Wooden legs
Did CH have more than it's fair share of monoped employees? In my time there was Kit Aitken (from whom I learnt the correct spelling of that immensely useful word Eschscholtzia), the school barber (who at the speed he worked must have been paid per head), and the bokker in the wardrobe. Since leavi...

Now back from Spean Bridge Commando memorial. Excellent remembrance day parade of both veterans and serving commandos. Very appropriate setting with snow topped mountains on all sides we all froze (didn't notice many big taches). Mid A 15: I think you are right, we didn't do anything special for re...

Thanks for your reply, I was hoping someone would do a 'rising bell to lights out' kind of thing. But, as ever it raises one or two more questions! I realise these might seem the sort of 'bleedin' obvious' type of question, as Monty Python might say, but..... 7.15. Dressed, sheets and blanket folde...

Those who are not entirely complimentary about the School may prefer to remain anonymous although in my view they should have the courage of their convictions. I would exonerate those exposing Masterplan anomalies however from that generalisation. For myself my real name is on the profile and has p...

What a wonderful post to start, Shoz. Reading through it has bought back so many memories and also proves the point that at a given time in the School's history, the whole ethos of discipline changed completely. SHOES :- Yes, they seemed to last for ever. If issued with a new pair, we would spend H...

Just wondering why so many people feel the need to remain anonymous on a forum such as this - perhaps some of the anon. members could offer their views. Perhaps current staff, pupils or others closely involved with the school or foundation may, for whatever reason, wish to keep a low profile. Wh kn...

Tonight I watched
Newcastle play London Irish in the Rugby Premiership on TV with my father.
We both commented at how good we thought the referee was. The commentator then also commented that the referee, Sean Davey, was having a good game.
I understand he teaches at CH.

New lyrics for: I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor At first I was afraid, I was petrified When you said you had 10 inches, Lord I almost died But I'd spent oh so many years just waiting for a man that long That I grew strong And knew that I could take you on But there you are... another lie, I was gear...
