Re: CH Scouts
I agree with pinkhebe and chdad - my dd wanted to join the scouts, but is in the junior drama production and couldn't do both actives.

Re: The Blue
The blue was an excellent read, and I even thought I caught my dd's name in the house roundup, until I realised it was a dep by the same name
I'll hope for a mention next year, but she'll be pleased to see some of her friends in the art day project on pg 97

Re: Poorly children
Pinkhebe, I'm really sorry to hear that your ds is unhappy, and on his way to hospital. I hope that his being unwell is the reason, and that it's not serious. My dd was homesick quite a bit last term when she wasn't well, and she has hurt her ankle this term, and I get wobbly phonecalls and texts wh...

Re: 2012 Admissions Thread
I found the wait got harder the closer to the results day. I was a complete wreck just before. We had decided that dd could open the envelope, but when it came, I just had to open it really carefully and bounce around, and then reseal it really carefully, and pretend all innocence

Re: 2012 Admissions Thread
Yada yada, not just the awful weather. There was a tree on the line this morning, and all trains south of Horsham were cancelled - the fleet of CH mini busses at the station was impressive, and looked well organised (dd and I had a very long and delayed journey to London).

Re: 2012 Admissions Thread
Hi Lippi, the weather here is terrible too. I have just seen the BBC forecast - the very heavy wind and rain will ease tonight in the southeast (edit to say it's just become very still and sunny), but will still be windy and initially wet tomorrow. There will be heavy rain on Wednesday night, but Th...

Re: 2012 Admissions Thread
Hi Jodz, my dd recommends a dressing gown - some of the assessments went into the evening, and she had the last one not long before bed. That sounds scary, but she says it wasn't. She really enjoyed the two days immensely - we were the anxious ones. Which house is she staying in? In dd's house it's ...

Re: How much
Dd's stuff has found it's way into the dining room ... I'm hoping to reclaim the dining room by Christmas day ;-) Dd hasn't touched a thing. I'm now only half way down number 1 washing bag and wondering why dd doesn't turn her clothes the right way round :-( I did feel very sorry for the parents of ...

I can only assume that dd has been regularly depleting the thrift shop of it's stock

Re: CH Scouts
Found the Facebook page - thank you pinkhebe.
Mr Atticus has just told me that he is very happy to volunteer occasionally ( he has never been a scout, but sometimes helps out at ds2's beaver group.

Re: CH Scouts
I can't find it in facebook - could you please post a link or it's full name. I'm very sorry to hear that it's struggling. My dd was a guide and was quite interested in joining, but she said that she hasn't joined because ' they havnt been told about it / are limited to only one active' in the secon...

Aah - that possibly explains the lack of phonecall, your ds and my dd must be in the book club together

Re: Initial Assessment
Hi Lippianzer, I'm another local parent ( dd is in the 2nd form) who wishes to pass on my congratulations :-) . I'm also very happy to meet up whilst you are over - possibly with Pibble too (would be lovely to meet mr and mrs Pibble) ? I found keeping sane and occupied during the residential really ...

Re: Tower of London
Wow - he is fantastic !
Dd is very keen to try it out, possibly at the start of the Christmas holiday, but if you get Bill Callaghan as the guide... Will he eat a little squit in full housey? (or her mother?)
