Who's Blue?
Is there any chance of a new edition of this most helpful volume? Probably too costly to produce. Regards John Saunders

Re: Housey Coat 'badge'
I seem to remember the introduction of an RAF badge in the late 50s. Did not Riches of Th.B wear something similar? JHGS

National Service in the Tower of London
I was enrolled in the Education Corps as I was medically unfit for a proper line regiment. Two perforated eardrums was not considered suitable for the Royal Artillery my first choice. As I played the trumpet and the Corps orchestra in London was short of brass players I was detached as an instructor t...

I also carried my trumpet into post Housey activity. Formed an eleven piece swing band at Cambridge in 1958,after national service in the Tower of London.I made a point of swinging the Last Post just behind the Household Brigade buglers-and slightly flat! No one noticed and it was very silly.Since t...

Re: Memorable Sermons
Does anyone remember Bishop Bell's sermon around early fifties,on the Valley of Dry Bones! The Bones was delivered with a high pitched squeal. Brought the house down. JHGS

Whilst on the subject of V1s- My father commanded batteries of Heavy Ack Ack guns (4.7s I think) on the South Downs during the V1 invasion..He told me that the guns used the rockets as targets since they came over like pheasants. However he was reticent about the success rate. Incidentally to furthe...

Re: Giving back to CH - some ideas....
Since money is a problem to maintain the charity for poor children, has any thought been given to selling the Horsham CH estate for millionaire housing and moving the school to the north where there is much child disadvantage in the great cities. St Bees has just been wound up. This is a great seasi...

Re: Sergeant Usher
A great and friendly man. He coached many of the swimmers to success. In retirement he would come and support the Housey team when they swam against Epsom. He was immaculate in civvies. Always wore one glove and carried the other! He always had time for a chat. And he would help potential gymnasts w...

60 year Reunion
I was disappointed to read that this reunion will be held on 2nd March 2016. With most of the probable attendees being 75 and over a date in May would have been kinder to old bones! Let alone the cost of train fares and hotels from those in the far North! The M6 at the end of Feb can be Arctic.Perha...

Re: School scarf
65 years ago Housey scarves were hand knitted by indulgent grandmothers. They were made up of alternate squares either of blue and yellow or blue and orange wool. The object was to see whose scarf was the longest. My 6 footer was a babe compared to some. Also essential to have them made double thick...
