Re: 3 weekly grades
Hi Voluptoraptor, The average grades are important as there are academic trophys awarded to a boys and a girls house, but I don't think the children get too get up about it. Dd is competitive with herself, but as long as its mainly 5's with a few 4's she's happy. What she isn't happy with is the 3c ...

Dd couldn't understand the fuss everyone was making over 'the man who sells crisps'.
So we explained about him being the most famous English footballer of his day, and current sports presenter. There was a pause, and a 'oh..... that makes sense now' ! Lol

6 page article in today's Telegraph magazine
There is a lavishly illustrated 6 page article in today's Telegraph newspaper magazine. I have only just bought it, and won't get to read it until later, but one thing really leaps out at me. There are only two photos of girls. Looking at the photos, you would think that CH is a boys school !!

Re: Could someone tell me
Washing the uniform would terrify me.
We take it into Sainsburys in Horsham. They have a new dry cleaners ( different from last year who weren't brilliant). The new guys did a fantastic job - not a yoghurt stain in sight and for £4.20 for the skirt and jacket together.

Or not much tuck....dd said no to chocolate and sweets. She's taken tomato soup and pasta pots, and a large pack of cherry tomatoes ( there's been a theme this holiday - salad and tomatoes :-/ ) A couple of books until they get used to the library, photos, push pins for the pinboards, headphones, an...

Re: laptops
Windows enabled tablets are like the iPad, but with windows office on them ie PowerPoint, excell and word which they use at school, and are generally cheaper than the iPad. They can also get onto the wifi to access the school network. We want dd to have a laptop so she can watch DVDs - the day room ...
