Re: 2013 Admissions Thread
Now my little DS has passed the initial assessments all I get is "Oh, how on earth are you going to cope if BOTH you girls are at boarding school?" followed by patronising head tilt .... I have absolutely no idea and will cross that bridge when i come to it!

Re: Four weeks to half term
I am only 45 minutes away - but this Saturday we won't get home until about 5:00 pm as once I have picked up my DD I then have to deliver her younger sister to Big School for her Initial Assessment! DD and I will probably spend the afternoon Horsham window shopping ...

Initial Assessment
Just wondered if anyone happened to know the date of the Initial Assessment - school calendar says 13 October but the letter received today says 20 October. I'm assuming it's the 13th as the 20th is the start of half term. I can't get hold of anyone at school.

Re: Could someone tell me
Welcome to the fold, Jodz. My DD didn't take any photos for her first term - she was worried they would upset her. She's in the 3rd form now and took back a ridiculous quantity of photos on Sunday! I remember a request for drawing pins early on so she could pin stuff on her board. Wellies are a must...

My DD's also about to start third form and will not be taking a laptop - I can just about stretch to new shoes ... A laptop is way beyond my reach at the moment!

Lincolnshire Donation Governor
Oh, I hope you find someone. My DD was lucky enough to be presented by the Worshipful Company of Grocers and we will be forever in their debt. She has flourished beyond belief during her first year at CH and now her future is very bright. She's been home for a couple of weeks but clearly misses her ...

Beating retreat, end of term.
Yada Yada - you were so right - I stood in absolute awe for 45 minutes ... it was amusing because my DD started by saying "yup - we have this every day ..." with a kind of "seen it, been there, done that" attitude - by 10 minutes in she was spell bound! It was wonderful and a fit...

Re: It was purely a matter of time
CHDad - you're right on the button - she ALWAYS has her phone on silent - so little point in ringing it - but, funnily enough - that's how I manage to locate my phone most of the time! Thanks to you all for helping me out ... I will encourage her to keep her nose to the ground in the hopes that, dur...

It was purely a matter of time
I wonder if those more experienced CH parents out there could give me some advice - my DD has lost her mobile .... as the title of this tread suggests - I was not hugely optimistic about how long it would stay in her possession! She "left it somewhere" over a week ago. I've blocked the pho...
