There was an urban myth in my time that Housey coats were on sale in various emporia on the Kings Road during the late 70's and early 80's. I'm guessing that the XTC photo might explain where the myth came from.

Wool, every time. I seem to remember we tied knots in the end of wool scarves in order to weigh them down a bit so they wouldn't blow off you in the wind.
