Re: Christmas Card

It sounds as though OBs have all received two Christmas greetings; but current parents are never sent anything. Am I being cynical in guessing that no-one at CH bothers to court us because they know they’ve already squeezed us for every penny we might have to spare… Last Wednesday evening I answered...

Re: Bursary Forms

Hi Anna Welcome to the Forum, I’m sure you’ll find the support and advice you need here. For what it’s worth, there is a long thread from last year here http://www.chforum.info/php/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=4063 where Forum members speculated that exactly these sort of anxieties were likely to be cre...

Re: Class sizes

Thanks Mary! The first link has taken me to exactly what I've been trying to find.

I didn't realise that you can use Google to search within specific websites, so that's a very helpful tip in itself - this Forum is useful on so many levels!! :D

Class sizes

Following a conversation I had with someone at the Deps parents evening last Sunday, I’ve been trying to find out what CH’s policy is on class sizes. I’m fairly certain that this information is specified somewhere on the school web site, but I don’t seem to be able to find it. However I’m also sure ...

Re: Just checking....shoes

I found a brand new pair of size 8 DMs in a charity shop last week for £20. DS is currently in a size 7, so I snapped them up to keep for when they're needed... I just hope his feet haven't stopped growing!

Re: "Official" Parents' Forum

Does anyone know what the 'Parent Portal' area on the school website will be for? Presumably this will serve a different purpose to the parents' forum, but what? I've tried clicking on the link out of idle curiosity; initially this took you to a message saying something about the page being in devel...

Re: Saturday Telegraph

I'm sure that I recall a very similar article being published (also in the Telegraph?) just a few years ago. I thought I might have kept a copy, but sod's law I can't find it anywhere; it would be really interesting to compare the two!

Re: Saturday Telegraph

I just wanted let people people know there is an article in the Saturday telegraph magazine about CH. I've just logged on here to say the same thing. My sister phoned me this morning to tell me that there's a photo of my eldest in the article - must have been taken in 2010, just before he left CH.

Re: St Matthews Day Parade

There are some lovely photos of the St. Matthew's Day parade on the school website. I am rather curious though to read in the accompanying text that 'Hundreds of delighted spectators lined the streets and cheered as the pupils, led by the Band, marched through the City of London.' How on earth did t...

Fascinating documentary footage of 1930s CH

Returning from dropping DS back to school yesterday evening, I managed to catch the second half of a BBC4 documentary on health before the NHS. It included some brief but fascinating footage of Christ's Hospital during the 1930s, when a research project into the effects of poor nutrition found that ...
