How Strange !!
I can see you were affected by your spelling !!

I used to get advertisements for "Extensions" --- which I ignored, having a Greenhouse.
I wonder how the other sort would go down at a Planning Committe ?

Re: The Housey Special

Another clue is --- "The job" !!

I have "Connections" with the Dorset Police, and when I remarked "! was born into the job" attitudes warmed.

They cooled a bit, when I admitted that I had also been on the Police Authority

Actually he would not be the first.

I remember playing against a Winger in 1946, although (Senility strikes !) I can't remember his name !

Re: The Housey Special

Off topic --- but--- JR My Mother, aged 93, as Senior City Widow, was taken by Patrol car and an Outrider, from Bishopsgate to Waterloo, with the complete co-operation and approval of the Metropolitan Police, who quite appreciated the honour. She was also escorted onto the platform, with the additio...

Re: Corporal Punishment by CH Teaching staff

Most of the corporal punishment in Ba B, and I suspect, elsewhere, was carried out by the Monitors ----- The Girdle, when twisted, becomes a very efficient weapon. : In my days monitors were not allowed to give corporal punishment; we had more sadistic methods which were allowed .... like running r...

Re: Day Pupils

I am sorry to read that many of you feel the ethos of CH has gone. My DS only started last year so we are ofcourse new, but we love the school's ethos! We felt it is very much there. We would have been unable to pay for our DS to have this wonderful chance, the experience, the high level education ...

Have just started readin my Christmas Present of "Blue Murder", which is fascinating, but "Navy Blue Breeches" are mentioned. --- Is this the present case > when did it change from the dark grey of the 40s --- and , I assume, time immemorial. Or has Senility struck again ?

Re: Cameron's EU Veto (Or Not!)

I am not at all sure about Mr Cameron's intervention on the subject of Scottish Independence. His remarks, that it should be under the auspices of the Westminster Parliament, might seem to infuriate the Scots sufficiently to voe an overwhelming "YES". Mr Salmond has an overall majority in ...

Re: Does anyone on this forum go to church?

You will by now, have realised why I am "Notorious" (It was TBA's choice ! ) I do believe that, as we get older, our attitudes become more "Entrenched" the dreaded start to a comment -- "In my time" --- Ba B 1940--1946 I DO try to avoid using it on this Forum -- but it ...

It never crossed my mind, as to where Miss Watts and her maids for Barnes, ate their meals, they were all accomodated on the top floor --- probably still are. Apropos meals in "Factories" --- As I was promoted, during my time with Plessey, on first promotion, I achieved a table with a tabl...
