Re: Becomming a New Dep

I see that englishangel and I adopted the same revising techniques. I have fond memories of Latin O level revision (particularly Caesar's Gallic Wars) being undertaken with Clare Ryan at the far end of Big Side, in the sun with a few fags. Can't remember revising for anything else but I suppose we m...

Re: Eurovision Madness

I love Eurovision and we watched the whole thing. Poor Andy Abraham - a great song and a great performance but it was never going to be anything else for us. Even if Take That had been our entry, we'd have come bottom. A bit galling that the Spanish finished higher than us though. What was all that ...

Re: Rainforest food

Mashed avocado and banana is great for little kids. Our younger daughter grew up on it. I adore avocados. They are great with smoked bacon or prawns in a salad. There was a fad a few years ago for guarana. It was in drinks, chewing gum etc and advertised as the 'natural' way to beat tiredness. Haven...

Re: Armed Forces Careers

my wife recovers from a fairly nasty C-Section after Second Son was born two weeks ago. Due to fly back out once she has recovered - so if anyone has any questions now is the time to get them in as I have plenty of time to check the internet at stupid o'clock in the morning whilst trying to calm a ...

Re: Below Standard

Nothing to do with needlework at Hertford, but I handed in a history essay at Horsham that was apparently so awful the teacher had given no mark and no educational or critical comments, just "you have very nice handwriting", the only glimmer of positivity in an otherwise desolate landscape of useles...

Re: Happy Birthday CJ !

By the way, cj, just in case you didn't realise - that was... erm... supposed to make you feel good... (Never quite sure what pregnant ladies would rather hear... and I'd hate to get :axe: ) I'm fairly zoned out with happy hormones (and tiredness) that most things go unchecked, but I'd never take i...

Re: What the chuffin' 'eck is this?

In the past I have been fairly free with my language, which is fine by older daughter (13) who acts as the moral guardian of the house by spelling out all the rude words when repeating a story, but decided I ought to set an example when I heard younger daughter (4) exclaiming "b*gger" and, worse, " ...

Re: Happy Birthday CJ !

Cj, sorry I'm a bit late, but I hope you had a good day and that the next few weeks are good to you and not... :toimonster: :goodman: Still a bit of the old http://bestsmileys.com/sick/7.gif unfortunately. I'm now enormous and look like I could drop at any moment. No petite little bump for me. Only...

Re: Happy Birthday CJ !

Thanks! I've just got back from the physiotherapist and am sitting here in a massive elasticated truss which is holding my soggy hips together. It's just as well I'm already pregnant because this is the biggest passion killer I've ever come across. Ho hum. Off to my mum's for tea later. Am going to ...

Re: Letters

I'm not all that surprised that central records don't keep up with changes of address, but I'm genuinely horrified at the thought of someone buying a tv (and that's not even what Gerrie bought) and that information being fed straight to the licencing authority.  Funnily enough, after...
