Fair point. I guess that we as Old Blues should be extremely concerned Edit - by which I mean care a lot) about the activities of the school, as that's what we're supporting if we financially (or otherwise) contribute - otherwise we're perpetuating something which could be damaging, or at least not ...

It's a real shame when someone's had such a rough time at CH. I look back on it, and I had a very rough time at a couple of point there, but overall look back on it with fondness and affection. It certainly set me up for life, giving me an ability to get on with all levels/ages of people. I'm sure t...

Why's this important? I guess I'm asking because CH relies on the loyalty of ex-pupils to fund and support its future. Having received a subsidised education from a charity organisation, do the ex-pupils feel a loyalty to it to fulfill "The Charge" later in life? If the answer to the above is NO, th...

Loyalty - to CH, or to your Uni/HE?

A thought which was mentioned as part of the CH Club discussions was whether CH Pupils are beginning to feel more of a loyalty for their University/College, than for Christ's Hospital, once they've left? Would be interested in your votes, and in your opinions on this? Personally, I feel absolutely n...

Agreed- but how would you draw the distinction between the abstract "institution" and the people? I know what you're saying, but it's an interesting one to explore. There is definitely a feeling of the institution and it's ethos, in contrast to the people and their ethos?? With the formation of the ...

I guess another perspective on the parental-ambassadors is that they're proud of their kids, and how they turned out. Given the ratio of growing-up-time spent at CH, this must be in part due to the influence and opportunities of the school? I felt CH set me up exceptionally well for life, even thoug...

It is Mr Kirby, and yes he wasn't teaching then. I think he had connections with Leigh Hunt, and hence joined in with our house photos. I seem to recall he sometimes brought his Corgi along with him - a viscious little animal. I had Corgis as pets when I was a kid, and loved them - but I'm sure he t...
