Then, we did have a number who came from South Africa - one of them was a trained accountant but was earning 3 times his salary here by serving meals than being an accountant in Jo'burg!
I remember that dinnerman, his name was Matthew Theron.

It transpired that one of the 'bockers' had decided that enough was enough, and suspended himself by his neck to the over-head pipes. That's amazing that the word 'bocker' has been going on so long! I only though it was a recent thing to complement their everincreasing rudeness, impatience, and lac...

Theatre - anyone know of another school with such a good one (or with one at all)?

The tube - even if it is now out of use, it gives the school a lot of charm and interesting adventure stories!

The staff houses - what other school offers such a quantity and quality of staff accommodation than CH?

and we still get lots of british tv which is one thing I missed when I first came. That's actually one thing that's really good about the UK, it has very good television. Look at French or American TV, absolutely laughably dreadful. The beeb seems to have a good worldwide reputation as far as I know.

It seems generally known now that Dr. Connors is leaving. All the nonfoundationers have known for ages anyway, as they always do about everything, and people have gradually just heard; he's not really keeping it secret anyway.

It's interesting that you say you 'don't particularly like the UK'. Is that in comparison to somewhere else you've lived, or are there things about the UK that you *imagine* would be better elsewhere? Do you have a particular place in mind, and what do you expect from it? Interesting you said that....

Hey! I used to play fives and I can assure you all that it was a most enjoyable past-time! Once, I even managed to slam the ball into Hammer's chest when we were having a pupil vs staff game. I broke my opponent's nose with a fives ball within 5 minutes of my first ever fives match for the school. ...

I frequently listen to Radio 2 I've sofar converted 4 people from Radio 1 to Steve Wright in the Afternoon! In the 'nonstop oldies,' there's bound to be a song that either you never thought you'd hear again, or a really great one about which you'd completely forgotten. 'Shiny Happy People' is alway...

It must have been great growing up here when groups like Queen and ABBA, etc. were at their prime. I'm generally of the opinion that the majority of good songs have already been written, and this is proven by the massive amount of new groups that just take to doing remakes. I think one of the really...
