Re: Edward Malins

He once let slip that he was well-known in Sussex and I remember one term a GE class wrote a letter to him which one of us posted from a continental holiday. The envelope was addressed simply as Mr E. Malins, Sussex. The next term he thanked us for 'corresponding' as he put it. Donald Duncan ( LaB 5...

Re: CH and flu

There was a severe outbreak in1957 - no vaccines then. I did not catch it and remember helping in the infirmary. Several houses were used for emergency beds. Can anyone shed any more information about this? My memory is poor. But pictures taken of dinner parades at the time show about 10 people per...

Re: CH and flu

My wife and I have had yearly flu shots for the last decade or so. Sometimes it apparently works and sometimes not. Same as that, Martin. Apart from pleasing those who knew these masters, a potentially useful stock of relevant knowledge has b...

(Click on the image for larger version) http://www.chforum.info/pictures/LambB1953DMillerSmall.jpg Just discovered this in my attic. I believe it to have been taken in 1953, but could be out by a year either way. The House Captain is Ian Pitter, which should enable someone to be more precise. Unfor...

Re: When Peele B used to win stuff

We bowled Eastbourne out for 42 in 1958 or 1959. Mind you we had John Snow in the team then.
