Re: Disabilities 50s, 60s

Lamb B (and CH as a whole) was indeed a very tolerant community of diversity in ability, religion, origins but one soon was teased out of one's regional accent (mine strong northern) towards a "PS" accent - so that on my first vacation back to the wonders of the great town of Chesterfield ...

Re: CH 1552 Project

The first of a series of quadrennial books through to the quincentenary asking questions perhaps coupled to open quadrennial "Governor's Conferences" in Big School. One idea being the establishment of a "Christ's Hospital Group" of state and independent schools with a mission to ...

Re: Strange old man dressed in WW1 army gear / dog named lobster

I did Chemistry and Biology via heuristics memorably with Bill Kirby; he called me Gubbins. This was pre-Seaman and Seaman's major reforms and sackings - plus Seaman's introduction of school-wide illustrated lectures on sex by the charismatic, psychiatrist Dr Matthews ("homosexuality is an adol...

Re: What was the food chain?

I arrived to find the food at Housie in 1950, at a time of heavy post-war rationing, to be good - compared to the rest of the country; remembering plump herrings, large kippers, liver, duff & custard, eggs, porridge, housie mutton stew, rabbit stew, sweet milky kiff - with plenty of fresh bread ...

Re: A post on behalf of one of the Dobbie/Husband victims

This is to endorse all the compassionate messages in response to this courageous post by someone horribly abused who now indeed warrants full compensation without ado. I join those who would like to see those who have been abused suitably compensated without protracted legal proceedings. This could ...

"First off I would like to see those who have been abused suitably compensated without protracted legal proceedings and on a no fault basis. Instead of spending money on legal costs, put it towards compensation". I strongly support this recommendation. Some of the victims have suffered esp...

Thanks Avon.
(1) FFP will be monitored each year through to 2027;
(2) Terry had a meeting with Simon on Speech Day to monitor.
How do you suggest this be progressed yourself?

Re: "Petition 2018" to Council for a "Truth & Reconciliation Inquiry"

Many thanks, Julian. Hoping others will weigh in just as thoughtfully to further the debate - especially Katharine & Foureyes. The ITV report regarding the interview with Simon Reid is encouraging. We all want CH to come out of all this - and the whole Reid Era - stronger, and even more committe...

Foureyes has proposed a "Truth & Reconciliation" Inquiry. A "Petition 2018" on this to Simon Reid could be a way ahead.
