When I read of the dance being referred to as a "fixture" I recall that they were presented in the school calendar as such rather like cricket matches. The memory brought a wry smile to my face and sweet memories!! Horsham High school and swapping the i for the o etc.

This all gets very intriguing as I'm told that Mary Macnutt (Carol's mother) was at the funeral, which unfortunately I could not go to. Is she an active centenarian?

Indeed. What a war history and bravery - never really referred to in my time in Thorn A. A long and full life. He described my Unversity potential as "made of red brick" but was so kind when I secured a Geography Exhibition at Pembroke Oxford. And to think that his son Andrew, 2 when i lef...

I think Ron Lorimer was a master at CH for 34 years (1958 to 92) - he had had a year in Madison Wisc. and at the LCC school near Ipswich we heard before coming to CH. Those with war service obviously had reduced length careers but A Rider must be up there in span and didn't he then teach at Hertford...
