House photos
Hi all, quick question; I know that the houses had "house" photos taken a while ago, any idea if they are on the web yet and if so, where they are hiding! Thanks!

Who knows! Bit aggrieved that we now only have the leave weekend before the forms are due back to discuss options with our ds!

Thanks Amanda! I remember seeing the speeded up film of the last one in 2010. Hilarious!

Re: CH as an educational facility for West Sussex C.C.
My DS is in the third form, whilst we may be middle class, we aren't from Sussex! His year group is a massively diverse bunch, with the son of a German Count (on full fees), to children from inner London council estates, no doubt with free or virtually free places. Plus the whole array of different ...

Re: Sibling places
Siblings have never had preferential treatment - BUT in my experience they have NEVER been disadvantaged either. This statement comes after 13 years of being involved at all levels of the Admissions process. That's really good to know. It just seemed from recent posts on the boards that many more s...

Re: Cost cutting
I think they include water bills as they are linked to the old "rateable" value of your house - except for those on meters. Whereas gas & electric use is down to not only the size of your property but dependant on so many other variables, efficiency of heating system, amount of insulat...

Re: Sibling places
I guess the global economic downturn is also at play here. However, if they are turning down perfectly able, bright and gifted siblings to get a better return on non related children's bursaries I do think that is morally wrong. Many siblings spend hours at CH watching concerts, sports days, sportin...

Re: 3rd form GCSE options
Any idea why they decide their options a year earlier than state schools? I assumed that they possibly did take a option early then doubled up? Or do they need the extra year for the igcse taken in so many subjects?

Re: 3rd form GCSE options
There was a sheet listing the subjects to be taught to gcse, but no indication as to normal gcse or igcse and what happens if a gcse is taken early, what other subjects are to be taken afterwards. we haven't even received that much! I've had to look it up on the website, but even then, it's not cle...

"Sibling Policy Siblings cannot be guaranteed a place at the School but may apply for a place in the same way as all other applicants. While the School will consider applications for sibling entry sympathetically, there may be occasions where the School judges that a sibling is likely to thrive...
