Re: New Bursaries policy
I must be being a bit thick but I thought he school was originally founded for pupils who needed 'high support' . I am pretty sure that's what Edward himself thought he was doing...

Re: CH Advertising in the papers
I can see where you're coming from as a moderator because it is such a huge responsibility.I suppose you have to guess and decide whether the original poster was 'having a laugh' in the context of all parents who pay fees joke about the hardship even though they choose to do it or if it was a snipe ...

Re: CH Advertising in the papers
This includes misrepresentation, insinuation or falsehood, rather than an opinion, since anyone can hold an opinion of their own. Isn't most of what 's here an opinion? The original poster had one of three motives I imagine . One was to post what he thought was witty piece of satire. Secondly he ha...

Re: calculator still not arrived
There's no formula to this as what ever way you look at it you are used to seeing your child every day and talking over the bones of it. My eldest who left this year phoned every day for an hour at least.Sometimes I left the phone and came back and she was still talking...House Parents and some othe...

Re: Squits
It just means new boy/girl. I imagine ,though I don't know why, it has something to with being small.Like Tich or Half Pint and other endearments for junior new people .I don't at all think it's meant to be anything else. The older pupils get the less they use the term.

Mine was expelled I think. Maybe Jo would remember as she might have been in the same year?

Re: Parental Contribution
I can entirely agree with what you say about the waiting lists -it seems odd at the very least to keep a waiting list and not use it.I do think though that the mix of children is carefully considered and that children on the waiting list may not be suitable for all sorts of reasons even when places ...

Re: Parental Contribution
With regard to the smaller year group in last year's second form there was probelm with the weather at the time of the residential. it snowed and the residential was postponed. This had a knock on effect when it came to national offers day. Parents obiously have in the main a number of schools in mi...

Re: Beating the Retreat
Yes ,she is and would love to see a friendly face! The Retreat was the best I have seen in six years and certainly Matt Coster's Last Post was the very best I have heard ( I believe Mr W thought so too) -Matt is very talented-there were no wobbles and it was played with emotion and dignity . You wou...

Re: Beating the Retreat
Oh thanks, that's made me feel better. It's good to have support here -especially from parents who live far away from the school. It's hard to give up netball matches and concerts and also the 'school gate'even with all its terrible politics .It's hard not to know what goes on in the school day if yo...

Re: Beating the Retreat
The Last Post -definately but I have never heard Sunset with the organ in six years. Oh... it'sthe Grecians' Ball tonight and I can't see my daughter in her dress . I am pathetic as no one has died but I cried and cried this morning about how many things I have not seen because I live to far away. S...

Re: EAST LODGE ENTRANCE TO CH
It's opened for the Lord Mayor to drive through it if I have the correct gate. It is always locked when I normally drive to the school but I happened to be behind the Lord Mayor driving to the school on Speech Day and saw his car drive through the gate.
