Re: Does anyone know the school latin motto?

Wait - they've got rid of the Votum?? because it's elitist and difficult to sing??? for crying out loud. If it's an anachronism, it's certainly a glorious anachronism. They'll be getting rid of the uniform next. I used to really like it. We did several fun and sarcastic arrangements of the music. N...

Clements Theory - E-Learning Grade 5 Music Theory

Hi all, I have recently set up an online business, teaching people music theory: Clements Theory ( http://www.clementstheory.com ) - specifically for the Associated Board Grade 5 Theory exam, which is compulsory for anyone who wants to take grade 6 or above on their instrument. The site features ver...

David Clements

Hi all

Does anyone have contact details or news about David Clements, who was assistant bandmaster in the time of David Elliott? (i.e. until c.1990)

Thanks

Re: Do you or an OB you know live in Yorkshire?

Well I'm in Todmorden (right at the western edge), and my fellow secretary of the YOBs is Megan Godden who's based near York I believe. I think we'll probably go for organising some events in York or Harrogate, particularly as a generous OB has offered us a great venue. Whether that means we are bas...

Re: Do you or an OB you know live in Yorkshire?

Thanks!

Are you in touch with him via FB then? If so would you mind letting him know about Yorkshire Old Blues, and if he's interested could he send an email with his contact details to yorkshireoldblues@googlemail.com?

Do you or an OB you know live in Yorkshire?

Hi, Megan Godden (nee Fisher) and I are the joint administrators of the Old Blues Asssociation in Yorkshire. However we are a bit light on members. If you, or an OB you know, lives in Yorkshire, please could you put us in touch? The "official" email address of Yorkshire OBs is yorkshireold...

Re: Carol Concert question

SUPER! Thanks very much. There is a seedy yet excellent pub just near there, "The Hole in the Wall" opposite the main staircase to waterloo station. The techies from the Southbank go there, and it has an excellent selection of real ale (a relative rarity in London!). Hopefully I will be ab...

Carol Concert question

Hi all, Michelle at the CHA called me to ask me to come and play my trombone at the carol concert... however I was late getting back to her and now she's away until tomorrow (when the concert is). I would indeed like to come and parp down my plumbing kit but I don't know the following: 1) where is t...

rugby shirt

Hi all, I'm just wondering whereabouts I could get hold of (i.e. buy) a CH rugby shirt, the sort that is currently in use. I have my very old-skool (literally, I guess) one from the 80s/early 90s that I still use for training today but it would be fun to have a current one if it has a crest or somet...

Re: House shirt colours

Interesting - don't they have grecians west vs grecians east matches then? Is there no particular loyalty to your grecians house, only to your two previous houses?

I prefer the idea of "once a peele man, always a peele man" but then those were my days and these are someone else's days!
