Re: Chief Bradley

Bob Rae is still alive? Glad to see that... couldn't have wished for a better maths teacher.

Re: Reunion for 1989 leavers (20 years? Jeez!)

Lots of people can't make this one on March 21st, so there's a talk of making a special effort to attend this year's Old Blue's Day...

Keep it free in your diary, Vonny!

Reunion for 1989 leavers (20 years? Jeez!)

Were you at C.H. from 1982 to 1989 (or thereabouts)? Then you might be interested to know a reunion is tentatively* planned for Saturday 21st March 2009 . It's all Andrew Reeder's idea, he also set up this Facebook group for it: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=47268199502 Looking forward to se...

Sprim! Thanks J.R., I have been wondering for a long time what that stuff was called... On the couple of times I have returned to C.H., the music school smell in particular took me back. Something about the brown carpeting and particular brands of cleaning products, at a guess. Funny how it always f...

Jeez, poor Sam! I remember him, glad he pulled through. Has anyone else noticed a high incidence of serious brain illness among 1980s CH pupils? I count 5 so far that I know of, including Sam, who were all within 3 years of each other. Maybe it's average, I don't know, but it seems statistically odd...

My nursemaid was Steve Usher-Wilson. Can't remember much about him, so I guess he must have been alright. I remember on my 2nd form, when I was in the pit of misery - terminally homesick, depressed, etc - a kindly U.F. called Rupert Hopcraft took me to one side and gave me the most wonderful pep tal...

Bolshoi fans may like to know that Trevor Tanner is alive and well in the U.S.A. and has written some great solo material. "Bullish, Bellyache, and Belch" is an awesome 3CD set - I'm listening to it right now. PM me if you'd like to hear some.

I last spoke to "Duda" by email a year or two back... he teaches music at a university in Germany now, and is married with one son.

I mentioned my own torturer-in-chief by name in the original thread, and in my calmer moments I can almost see why this was a bad idea. Following a tip-off by private message I have since learned that he committed suicide in 2000. "Couldn't have happened to a nicer chap" was my initial unc...

Did someone mention The Smiths? Ali Zaldua got me into them back in 1984... I still listen to them a lot today. Likewise my beloved iPod hosts a ton of Cure, Mission, Sisters of Mercy, etc ... all the usual goth suspects, the taste for which I acquired at C.H. Although I tend to play (and perform) m...

By the way while hunting out some house photo's to scan in and I found some photo's from the mid 80's of the year the leavers took every rugby shirt and used them as bunting round the quad, put a hard hat on Queen Victoria's bust and laid out classrooms on the grass. Hey I remember that! I was woke...
